The Mission

The Live Your Dash Memorial Fund honors the life and legacy of Brian Shoop by carrying forward his passions for faith, family, the outdoors, and helping others. Our mission is to support youth outdoor programs, create opportunities for disabled sportsmen and adults, and build accessible playgrounds and playground equipment that bring joy and inclusion to all. In the spirit of Brian’s giving heart, we are dedicated to serving people in need and giving back to the community he loved so deeply. Through faith, compassion, and action, we strive to inspire others to “live their dash” with purpose and kindness.

About Brian & The Dash

Brian Shoop was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and member of the community whose kindness, generosity, and steady presence touched the lives of so many. Known for his warm personality, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need, Brian made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Brian grew up in the Chisago Lakes area and remained deeply connected to the community throughout his life. He was passionate about his work as an engineer and took pride in the creativity and problem-solving that came with designing and building things that made a difference. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Brian was known for his humility, sense of humor, and the way he showed up for the people around him.

Whether spending time with family and friends, lending a helping hand, or sharing a laugh, Brian valued relationships above all else. He had a quiet way of making people feel welcome and supported, and his memory continues to live on in the many lives he touched.

The Brian Shoop Memorial Fund was created to honor Brian’s life and legacy by supporting causes and initiatives that reflect the values he lived by—community, generosity, and helping others.
